Abstract

Introduction: Monkeypox is a new emerging infectious disease and is just beginning to be recognized in Indonesia. This study aimed to know the increase in healthcare workers' knowledge about Monkeypox through an online seminar.

Method: This research is an experimental study with a quasi-experimental design. The research sample consists of all healthcare workers at health posts affiliated with the Jakarta Archdiocese (KAJ) in 45 regions who attended an online education session about Monkeypox (n=64). The healthcare workers' knowledge before and after the education was assessed by analyzing data using the SPSS program. Initially, normality tests were conducted, followed by non-parametric tests using the Wilcoxon test.

Results: The data analysis showed that the mean values of pretest and post-test scores on Monkeypox were 6.33±1.69 and 7.86±1.51, respectively. The statistical test indicated a significant increase in participants' knowledge about Monkeypox (p=0.000).

Conclusion: Providing education through online seminars has been proven to enhance healthcare workers' knowledge about Monkeypox. Online seminars held on weekends with appropriate duration and clear content are effective in improving participants' knowledge.
